Annual Scholarship Golf Outing
Thursday June 6, 2013
Water’s Edge Golf Course
Enjoy golf, lunch, dinner and refreshments for $105 per golfer, $400 foursome, or $35 dinner only. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with a shot gun start at Noon. Buffet lunch will be served from 11am to Noon. Become a hole sponsor for $225 or a beverage sponsor for $350. The cost includes signage, recognition in the golf program as well as the chamber’s website.

Luncheon:
Our May Chamber Luncheon was held at Lake Katherine in Palos Heights. The food was catered by Great Harvest Bread Co. Marty has many different types of bread, including gluten free items. The bread store is located at the corner of LaGrange Road and 131st in Palos Park.

Our June luncheon will be held at Mama Vesuvio’s where you can also meet our scholarship winners. If you can join us, please register for our luncheon by calling (708)480-3025. If you are a chamber member and would like to host one of our monthly luncheons, please give us a call and we can work something out.

May is the month to give Thanks to our Mothers, on Mother’s Day May 12^th and to our Veterans who have served for our Country with Memorial Day coming up on May 27th.

Please join me with wishing them a big “Thank You”.

Our annual Expo and Health Fair will be hosted at Moraine Valley Church, 6300 west 127^th Street, Palos Heights on Saturday May 4^th from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. This event is open to the public along with free admission and free parking. This is a great event for the family. We will have Palos Hospital offering free blood pressure tests, Spa’s, Chiropractors and much more. This event is running in conjunction with the First Midwest Bank Half Marathon. Our May luncheon will be held at Lake Katherine May 14^th at 11:45 am.

Our April 9^th Chamber Luncheon held at the Village of Palos Park with Mayor Mahoney had a good turn out. He provided information about Palos Park, up coming events, and working along side with Palos Heights their sister community.  The food was catered by Francesca’s in Palos Park and was a great treat.

Time to think of golfing:

Our annual golf outing is coming up soon. This is the Chambers only fund raising event for providing scholarships to local graduating seniors. This year the golf outing will be held on Thursday June 6, 2013 at Water’s Edge golf course. Enjoy lunch, golf, dinner & refreshments for $105.00 per golfer or $400.00 for a foursome. We are looking for hole sponsorships and beverage cart sponsorships. These sponsors will receive recognition on our advertising and the opportunity to promote your business at the individual holes. Set up a table at the hole and meet local residents and fellow community businesses.

Farmers Market:

The Farmers Market will begin May 8^th through October 9^th at the Municipal Parking lot located at 12217 S. Harlem. You can stop buy and purchase fresh items from 7am to 1 pm.

Spring time is here and we can finally enjoy a walk outside. When you are making plans for outside activities, think of all the Walking Trails in our area. We have the Little Red School House, The Center, and Lake Katherine, just to name a few. Enjoy the atmosphere, the spring colors, the smell of wild flowers and just being outside for the day.
